Our Mission and History

Our Mission
Too often, and for too many people, the legal system can be a strange and menacing world. This is especially true for many immigrants. The Centro de Ayuda Legal para Inmigrantes (CALI) is a non-profit legal organization that strives to help immigrants navigate this country’s legal system.  CALI’s mission is to provide quality legal representation in immigration matters for the low-income immigrant community.

Our History
The Centro de Ayuda Legal para Inmigrantes (CALI) was
founded in June 2011 and ultimately opened its

doors to the public in October of that same year in Mountain View, California. CALI’s Executive Director and founder, Maria Ramirez, knows firsthand the importance of trust between a client and their legal representative.  CALI makes every effort to create a safe environment where clients can feel comfortable discussing their cases with CALI’s qualified staff.  An integral part of achieving this is by having bilingual staff that assists clients in their native language.  In October 29, 2012, CALI relocated to Santa Clara, California.

To date, CALI has helped over 3,000 people apply for an immigration benefit.
